Please let me know if i'm correct in doing this to change the members no.
1)rename the members file & reupload 2)opened up the memberlist.cgi & change the members no. 3)I realised that the public_names.cgi is actually in order of members no. Do i have to switch the position?

Do not attempt this procedure.
This is dangerous.
It will cause problems.
Wait for UBB6s code to come out of beta before attempting to manually alter datafiles.

Charles,
Thanks for the advice. I will definately be doing it after UBB is out of beta. But i wish to prepare the files first. I'm planning to do a FRESH installation of UBB6 & transfer the members files over. For some reason, i have been issuing my OWN member nos in my forum, thus i need to changed the member nos for 20+ members. The rest, i do not need to change.
Kindly advise if the above procedures is correct. Thank you

The safest method would be to simply renumber the file and then rebuild the members directory, but that is still not advised.
