I imported ubb 5 files and in the log in it says log in my avatar and then none of my forums or anyhting are there What happened.. I have a ton of hacks installed and the avatar seems to be the one that's messing it up? How do I fix this ?

Since the avatar messes with profile fields, that definately sounds like your culprit.

Your version 5 board shouldn't be running unless you've tried to go back, and messed with things. I'd reccomend scrapping your CGI files, and possibly your member files, and starting from the beginning.

Not so fast... that's almost 1200 member files...

First, find the thread in chit chat about UBB V6 with copy cat's script to deletehacklines.pl . It works real well...

Make backup copies of your member folder, run his script, delete your ubb cgi files in your ubb cgi directory (not the Members folder/files), install a fresh set of non-hacked v5 files, and then re-install UBB V6. Things should be back to normal. You should be able to save all member files and posts/threads.

Post in here if it isn't working.

Make sure you save your variable files from v5 when you upload the fresh non-modified v5 cgi files... or you'll lose your settings...

Save these from your present install so when you upgrade it'll be a breeze...

Thnaks all.. Hopefully it'll work.. Lose 1200 members while were in the newest MM FF Magazine no way i'll stick with 5.45 if it don't work,..
