Hi Everyone,

I have a 5.47d board which is working fine.
Decided to upgrade to version 6 and everything worked fine in uploading and permissions setting.

I ran the Ubb_upgrade.cgi and that ran fine...clicked on the link to the forum and cp.cgi opened...
then it says click on button to make modifications.

This is where my problem comes in...I get a Software error:
(Maybe you didn't strip carriage returns after a network transfer?)

hmm...what happened?
Am I missing something?

I thought it might be a corrupted file so I downloaded the ver 6.01 zip again and got the same error. And since there were no changes, I couldn't run the ubb_upgrade.cgi file.

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

did you CHMOD all the files right?

Yes I believe I set all the permissions correctly.

It was 2am and after a while, I couldn't ftp anymore either...so maybe the host was doing some maintenance work on the server and that affected my site. I don't know. I uploaded my backup copy and will try the install again soon...just been too busy...

Sounds more like you uploaded something in binary rather than Ascii mode to me.. I'd check that first..

Hmm....that could be possible. Is that what that error message usually means?
