i currently have ubb 5.47a installed in my server. i was planning to upgrade to 6.0 but was too lazy but more afraid of the consequences. so here i am finding myself confused about whether to upgrade or not. but for the most part i am going to try. so here go my questions:
1. how difficult will it be? 2. what separates 6.0 from the 5.0 series? how is it supposed to be better? 3. would you recommend a clean install or an upgrade from the current version? 4. if i make a clean install, how do i transfer all the messages and member files, private messages etc.?
thanks. please answer all my questions.

1. easy, provided that you don't have a huge board. a few blindfolded monkeys could do it. 2. read at infopop . 3. if you clean install, all members will be lost. we're not installing an operating system here, just a bb. upgrading will be fine. 4. you don't. you'd need to upgrade. remember, bb, not os.

A question related to this topic Matt, since infopop tells us which files have been modified with each release, can we just upload the modified files.... and btw, when we upgrade, do we lose our old templates or are they kept?
