My Board is in real mess, I need some major help.
I did an upgrade from UBB545 to 6.04e that messed up. I had taken out the extra profile fields from hacks but I must have left something out as after the upgrade instead of usernames it showed links to their Avatars in Moderators column and Unregistered users in posts.

Ran the deletehacklines.pl and upgraded again.

I was able to bring some life back to it but still have a major problem:

When you go to a topic it has everyones name as 0 - unregistered.
In the Moderators column name showup OK and I can look at their profile.
If I post something new it does post my name correctly next to the post so its just a problem with old posts.

btw all my posts,members and topics are intact and this seems to be the only problem.

do you wanna go back to v5 or up to v6? based on where you are right now, I'd recommend going up to v6 after you run the deletehacklines.pl file I have listed in several threads in this forum.

After you do that, be sure and follow the instructions for upgrading your forums that came with the scripts.

Short story:
after upgrade when you go to a topic it has every user as 0 - unregistered.
new posts work ok,

Thanks for the reply Allen. I did run that file on my second attempt and I have the V6 Board running.
The only problem now is members showing as 0 Unregistered.

have you double-checked your settings in your control panel? Particularly the paths in the "configuration settings"?

After that, ftp into your Members directory and make sure every file and folder in there (every one of them) has permissions set to 777.

Just tried that also, still no go. Still if I make new post in that post the name shows up right but in same thread in old posts still says on all posts 0 Unregistered.

have you tried updating your member stats? It sounds like it's not reading your member files at all.

I did and I think its reading the members files as if I make a new post it does show everything properly in that post (not whole thread). It just never converted the old posts right but it did convert the members database right.
In trying to correct this I was knocked back as at one point my Forums were not showing up in ultimatebb.cgi but they are again back.

I had opened up a Ticket with Infopop yesterday and they have worked on it a bit but its still not resolved.

Moral of Story: If you have ever installed the MessageBay Voice Posts hack in Version 5 then don't upgrade to Version 6 untill you have cleaned all the NoncgiForum**.cgi.

cool deal nightsong, glad you were able to get it worked out.. I had no idea what could be going wrong just judging from here...:)
