Ok, here we go:

(If you can't be bothered to read, just tell me if there's a carnell util?)

I upgraded from 5.45 to 6.whatever

In doing this, I hadn't realised my search was broken, because a busy forum had nearly 20,000 posts in, and the archive of that forum had a further 17,000 in...

The search was only not working on those two forums (although one was an archive)...

So I upgraded to V6, flawless installation...

But now the search won't work for either of those forums still...

In V5 all I needed to do to fix the search was move all the posts from the forum, into a fresh forum of the same name, then simply turn off the original, but is there a limit on the number of posts you can have in an archive/forum on V6 too? If not (as I hope), is there a carnell util around yet? Cos it'll be damn annoying to transfer thousands of threads one by one into a fresh forum...

there's not a mass-move / carnell utility for v6 yet, I haven't heard of anyone doing one yet... we have a good number of good developers... you might either request it in the ideas and suggestions forum or bump one of the current requests in there...

Have you tried all the maintenance features on it to see if it rebuilds the search data? (rebuild search index, update post histories, etc)
