I saved the ubb on my harddrive and uploaded it to a faster server.

However...the control panel wont work.-its just a blank page,does anyone know what to do?-Please help!

well are you sure you uploaded ALL the templates and in ASCCI ?

are all the CHMODS for the directories right ?

Have you tried to upload clean out of the box cgi files ? Maybe the got corrupted during transfer ...

the board page is working,but you can post,and the control panel isnt working-its just a blank page.

If you can't post are you sure ALL files and directories containing thread files were chmoded 777 ?

also is the cache directory number the same that the number inside your config file ?

so you mean all the directories like "forum6" in the ubb directory?-I have chmoded them.

about this cache...
Wheres the config file,and how do I know which number it is?

the cache number is included in the directory name and is located in vars_config.cgi

have you tried uploading out of the box cgi files and templates ? NOT VARIABLES FILES

I dont know what you mean by "box"

I mean unmodified cgi files straight out of the zip file

no I havnt done that..because ILl loose all my hacks I installed.

Could you give me a checklist of what to do,when uploaded like what files to chmod,etc.

I just get a blank page.

getting a working board is more important than a hacked board (in the first place at least )

download the zip file and upload all cgi files and templates files.

make sure all files are uploaded in ASCII and all CGI files are chmoded 755

then see if you can run the board. If it is the case than your other files got corrupted and you need to hack again !

I did that (uploaded the cgi files and templates)-but not the variables because then I would loose my settings.

Its just tottally weird why I cant get in the control panel.eg...the first time i go into the CP it goes "ubb initial setup" so I type in the paths,the name then submit,it says THANK YOU SUCSESSFUL click here to modify the rest of the board,click on that,I get a blank page. What else could it be?

Your forum seems to be working... ok, but not your control panel. If you've modified your control panel files, you need to go back over what might have been done wrong. We can't help you there unless you tell us what you've added.

Other than that, you'll need to re-upload clean un-modified cp cgi files and template files (in ascii) and set their correct permissions.

found an other thing : you have many cache directories but none have the same number that the one in your config file !!!

OMG!-i am so sorry chuck..I only seen the reply PM now..and I think ive erased what you have done with chmoding etc...PLEASE could you re-do thanx alot!

OK everything is back on track !!
all you need to do now is install back the images that are called by your design and your forum is up and running !

I've spent around 5 hours re-installing it so please do not break anything

And BACKUP your cgi files and Templates before you add a hack, this way you can easly revert if something goes wrong.
