I just saw a note in this Forum that when upgrading - do not replace/install the var_* files except for the var_wordlet file.

So - if I am upgrading from 5.xx to 6.x I do NOT need the other var_ files?? Assuming that I uploaded them (which I did) would this cause the new BB CP not to work???

TIA--

Yeeesh...

OK - So I deleted all of the var_x files with the exception of the var_wordlet_x files and now I get this from my server (.../cgi-bin/cp,cgi):

Error including required files: [Wed Sep 19 10:44:35 2001] cp.cgi: Can't locate vars_config.cgi in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/i386-linux/5.00404 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl .) at cp.cgi line 46. Make sure these files exist, permissions are set properly, and paths are set correctly.

Before I deleted the other var_x files - I only had this problem:

Error including required files: [Tue Sep 18 21:38:00 2001] cp.cgi: syntax error at cp_lib.cgi line 2, near "elsif" Make sure these files exist, permissions are set properly, and paths are set correctly.

Am I any further ahead now?!?

Should I upload the vars-config file?

What to do - what to do...

That's only if you are upgrading from an already installed 6.0x version tipsy

If upgrading from a v5, upload *all* files from the full install version of UBB.

Back to square on again... I reloaded all of the var_x files to my /cgi-bin/ directory and I still get:

Error including required files: [Wed Sep 19 11:12:02 2001] cp.cgi: syntax error at cp_lib.cgi line 2, near "elsif" Make sure these files exist, permissions are set properly, and paths are set correctly.

Is this saying that there's a problem in the cp.cgi file or in the cp_lib.cgi file or both?!?
