Hello, I have a heavily modified UBB 6.02 forum and would like to upgrade to a newer UBB 6.0x version, it would be too much of a hassle to uninstall the hacks, and then upgrade, so is there any way that I can do a clean install of UBB 6.0x and then import the database from the 6.02 forum oh yea, btw, I'd like to keep my mebmers, threads, forums.... Just wanna upgrade without messing up all the hacks, etc.. all that hassle

You won't be able to keep the hacks, but keeping the threads, forums, and members will be no problem.

I uploaded a fresh copy of ubb onto the server, set up my admin account in the cp. I then copied over the members, and forums folders over to the new ubb.

I then went to the cp, and did all the maintainence tasks, like rebuilding forum stats, rebuilding member stats, etc..

I then proceeded to test the forum, but only half the forums appeared and their names were "Forum 1, Forum 2".. What went wrong?

You need to copy over the vars_forums.cgi file from your old site...

heres wat you do go to the ubb members area and get the upgrade zip and just follow the upgrade instructions in it. normaly it is just copy the files over the existing ones and then rebuild all that stuff and so on but if you have a hack that modified the member lines # you then have to go and up date the $maxmemfields = xx; replace xx with the number and your board will work just fine untill you have the time to reinstall all your hacks. the $maxmemfields is in ubb_lib.cgi in ubb 6.0.x and in ubb_files.cgi in 6.1.x

Yes wat allen said is true or you can do wat i said either way will work. just you have to do the $maxmemfeilds stuff if you have any hacks that store to an additional feild in the profile some examples are calendar hack 8 custom user feilds and so on.
