I have UBB 6.04f set up on IIS 5.0 using ActivePerl (Thanks for the link Allen!).

Right now, I have the UBB set to my local hostname (aka computer name), but when I want someone else to connect to the UBB, all the images and links are dead (cuz the URL is set to my computername, which you cant get to over the internet).

How can I get around having the complete path controlled by the UBB?

I tried taking out the http://computername out of the paths in the CP, but then all the links show up as http:///cgi-bin/ or http:///ubb/ instead of like they do on any other HTML page as http://whateverthehostnameis/cgi-bin/ or http://whateverthehostnameis/ubb/

I hope someone understands what I'm tryin to do.

Oh, I just saw the thingie taht said to post Board URLs. Mine will only work when I'm online, so sorry if you guys try to get to it and I'm not on.

Crud....I thought I had it!

Seems the problem only happens when you're looking at individual posts!
EVERY other UBB page works just fine.

PS. Sorry if this is considered flooding, I'm just trying to provide as much information as I can in hopes that someone else will ahve some insight.

Use the machines IP address instead of its name and every page should work. I have a test board on my lan that functions perfectly.

I have a dynamic IP.
I know that would work but I'd have to reset it every time I get online...

Use cjb.net.. Work perfect for this kind of thing..

Use CJB.Netter for Win9x to update your IP everytime you log on..

Ex.: http://thedonut.cjb.net or one of my friends sites run off of his puter: http://uhubb.cjb.net

I have the same thing but from www.dyndns.org and its updated every time i log online.

Problem is, I'm not always online when I want to work on my board, and URLs dont work offline, as you should know.
