i'm running now ubb 6.04e (i'll upgrade this week when the server configures the php and the safe mode)

Meanwhile i have one question: the search isn't working! when i do a search it doesn't finds nothing! when i try to rebuild the "search index" it gives me this error: "Hack attempt logged: attempting to open topic file that is not in proper format"...
i'm currently using one index file, if i choose to have one index file for each forum, what do i need to make next?

In the CP it says: "If you ever change this setting, you MUST recreate your index (click on the Recreate Index link in your UBB control panel after you make the change)."

Where the hell is that "recreate index link"??!?!
And what can i do to clear that "hack attempt logged..."?!?

as far as I know, "Hack Attemp" error happens only if you have some bad characters in the url like
But, try to delete the index file...

And if you have some "Hacks" installed, try to upload a clean copy of ubb...

well...
i've deleted the INDEX files on cache/search_index

Those files were with owner "nobody", i deleted all Forum's and cache directory, and uploaded again to the server (i've made a backup of all).

Now, all files are with my owner and group, but... every thread appear as a blank page, and the search function, when i try to rebuild the index, it stills give me the same error...

what can i do regarding these 2 items?
what should be the permissions and owner's of "noncgi/Forum*" and "noncgi/cache*/" ?
