I'm moving my UBB 6.1 (beta 2) to a new server, I have already telneted and have the tar file. The only problem I see is that the absolute paths will be different. When I move it, will the boards recognize it and ask me to give the new location, or do I have to manually open the variable file that stores the absolute path information?

once u have all your files uploaded go to

www.mysitehere.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgifolder/cp.cgi

it will just be like installing a new ubb, u set the paths and it will forward u to the cp, then u can login as the admin (it wont overwrite anything) and set you hack paths if u have any needing changeing

If for some reason you can't get into your control panel, you can always download the vars_config.cgi file and manually edit the information in your facorite plain-text editor.

i would do it the manual way that way it keeps your current cache and doesn't make a new folder for it and you don't lose like all oyur hits and stuff. it is very easy to do it thro the vars file.
