Hi,
I had a ubb board hosted with f2s which use an windows server.

I have recently signed up with paid hosting which uses Unix and am having a lot of problems trying to get it configured. I have followed the install_unix help instructions precisely but am still getting errors to do with the permissions, even though I have set the permissions exactly as they were laid out in the help file.

One thing I'm not too sure about is
"*Special note for mod_perl: You must open cp.cgi and ultimatebb.cgi in a text editor and uncomment (remove the # from the front of the line) lines 24 and 28." Which lines are 24 and 28.

Can anyone please help me?

Hi,

I have been able to get the site so that you can view all of the posts and new members can register. But when I try to post or reply to a post then I get the following errors.

Software error:
Can't open: Permission denied at /usr/local/apache/domains/l/a/mysite.com/public_html/cgi-bin/ubb_new_topic.cgi line 430.

The posts then appear on the Forum Summary page under last post but don't appear in the actual forums page unless I update the forum stats.

For some reason I have non of these problems when making a post in the "Private Section" which is only available to admins and mods.

PLEASE please please help.

Have you put chmod with all cgis and pl data files on 0755?

But I uploaded all the files again and its now working Thank God.

Yes, i'm not alone. I have the same problem and don't know how to fix it.
