hi.. i have one domain, named www.a.com and hosted by www.ahost.com. i already use the www.a.com for one year at www.ahost.com, and all the forum data are in that hosting. i'm using ubb v6.0.5 in this site. the problem : right now i wanna move to another hosting named www.bhost.com, and i want too install new ubb v6.0.1.3 in this new hosting, can i take all my old data in www.ahost.com and install it in my new hosting ? such as the member profile, and etc.
Thanks for the helping.

If its to a Unix server, make sure you get the chmoding right on everything.
If you don't get it right the first time, just test things on your board a bit (modding profiles, making posts, deleting them, etc. stuff that changes stuff in cgi files.) .
If you get errors, like unable to write to whateverfile.cgi, make its its 777, etc. Make sure you set directory permissions too, not just file permissions.

Sorry to use this thread, hope you don't mind. With regards to Griffin's topic, what happens if you're moving from a UNIX to an NT platform? What should I do beforehand to ensure that everything works? Thanks!

you can do the forums quickly also and then just not update the vars_config file and then load the cp and it will ask you to set the paths and it will create a new cache folder. or if the paths are the same open up vars_config and just add something to make the paths wronge then load the cp.

anything in the noncgi i belive doesnt need chmoding except the folders themselves at 777. to move from a unix to a nt, all you do it donwload everything, and upload on the nt, andh change th paths, 'cause nt doesnt need chmodding.
