Okay, I'm a moron. I swear.

I went to upgrade my UBB and for some foolish reason, when I go to the cp.cgi script and enter my password and login name, it asks me if I want to download the cp.cgi file to my harddrive. The script doesn't actually run, it just tries to download from the server where my scripts run. I checked permissions over and over, and I can't figure why it is doing this.

Anyone else have any ideas???

It's either permissions or you aren't allwoed to run cgi in the directory your in.

You're better off asking over at Infopop's forums for installation/upgrade support

Its doing this probably because In windows you have associated .CGI to a program, possiblt notepad. What you need to do is go into Tools --> Folder Options, then click the File Types Tab.
Find anything that refers to .CGI or .PL and delete the entry. I had the same problem a while ago, thats how I fixed it.

You're both wrong. tipsy

Let the download occur - save the file.

When the download is complete, locate the file and give it a .html extension. After doing so, open the file in your browser of choice.

There will be a UBB error message displayed - what does it say?
