Okay i recently moved my board from one server to another.

This is what I did:
1. Copied non-cgi and cgi directories to my hard-drive
2. Uploaded to a new server and set the file permissions as you normally did when setting up the new board

However, there are a lot of directories in the non-cgi directory that have cgi scripts in them that need their permissions to be set.
For example:
non-cgi/cache-KTDJ5PBH

Im getting a lot of errors when i try to edit anything in the control panel.

MY QUESTION: Is there a document that I can read on moving your board to a new server? And what permissions to set the files/folders?

Your help is greatly needed!
Thankyou

CHMOD Forum*, cache* and BanLists dirs to 755, and all the files to 777.

Okay I Still have problems frown

1. Everything appears to be okay permision wise, however when i go to clear cache, it clears the cache (well, no error msgs come up) - but when i view the board, it still looks the same when it shouldnt

2. Do any permissions need to be set under the Members directory in the cgi-bin?

Thankyou so much though, i appreciate it... as i need this board up and working frown

1. URL? What do you mean by "looks the same when it shouldn't"? Did you CHMOD also all SUB folders of cache-X to 755 and all subdirectory files to 777?

2. 755 for folder, 777 for files (I think).

LK: yer mate I have

Sorry that wasnt well explained... what i meant is that the board doesnt look like the board that was on the original server. It looks the same as the board that used to be on the server.

In short: I think cache isnt working, and i think it has something to do with the permissions for the files in the cgi directory that i need to set

Would the correct way to do it be:

1. Upload non-cgi and cgi directories (downloaded from previous server)
2. Set file permissions for .cgi files in the cgi directory (CHMOD 755)
3. Set file permissions for variable files in the cgi directory (777)
4. Set file permission for the Members directory (CHMOD 777)
5. Set file permission for the non-cgi direcory (CHMOD 777)

then:

6. Set all the directories and sub directories in the non-cgi directories under Forum*, Cache*, Banlist to 755, and all the files in those directories to 777

7. Then clear cache

8. DONE

??
Because thats what ive done and for some reason the board on the new server (which previously had a board but was deleted, and put my board up there) shows the OLD board... and not the NEW board
