Thats not needed AT ALL. We pay for our UBB, we report them. I reported at least 100 in my lifetime.

I was only stating that because I get my share of e mails from people looking for me to give them files I dont look for unlic. Ubb
They come to the lic holders.

the story of how i got here is an interesting one.

as most of u know, i used too work for ultrasupport.org (a very popular ultraboard hacking site not unlike ubbdev).

well, ultraboard pissed me off too the point where i couldn't take it anymore and i did some of the stupidest things trying too get ubb for free. from saving the html files in ie too using programs like getright too try to get the files. none of these methods worked and it drove me up the wall so badly that i got a license. the sad thing is now i get ppl trying too do the same stuff too me. I've been asked again and again for my files.

I even know of a PIRATED ubb that offers PIRATED copies of ubb thru members in their forum around the clock. (if any admins want the address to this site pm me, but you'll have too wait, i'm digging up some confessions right now and there are A LOT!)

5 minutes after we went too get ubb6 today, this site was reporting that they had ubb6 final. Isn't software piracy buetiful? and isn't it nice that pirates around the world had it installed before most of us even got too downloading it? Sombody even claims too have a copy of the software that runs opentopic. how colorfull.

makes me mad? yeah.

why doesn't infopoop (yea, i spelt it like that on purpose) do the same as our "freinds" at vbulletin and implememt a "call home" which checks the validity of a referer's license?

oops, can't post that. too bad we can't delete posts, but i guess editing them is one in the same

Interesting story. It really is! The only thing is you cant run OT on your own site. And the files are burried on a server and protected so the only files they can get are the XSL files.

anyhow, u guys know i frequent ubb hacking (sites promoting ubb piracy) forums, and it looks like ubb6 gold has stunned ubb pirates by introducing a "call home" which wasn't in the beta versions.

congrats infopop, keep up the good work. just remember these guys are good so change the call code with every version.

yeah, It's a good idea looking for illegal ubb's but I have to tell you it's sad.

I don't use an illegal copy/pirated copy etc.
Nor do I have the licensed version, however I run an Ezboard { http://www.ezboard.com }.

But you have also got to look at it like this, a UBB is like $300? am I right? How many people can afford that? Apart from Businesses or little rich kids?

I think Infopop should charge businesses and mabye produce a Bulletin Board for a fraction of the price for the average site designer.

Who is going to pay outragous prices for a Forum on the site when they could get a ezboard for free (apart from you guys )!

I know they are not quite as good but still worth it when u see a $300 UBB!!!

I had been considering setting up a ubb until I saw the prices...

Lot's of people want their site to look good and can't afford a ubb and there you lot go grassing them up and what happens, they get busted and mabye fined!! That's sad. I knwo u must be upset about paying but so what, you are in the right. You have nothing to worry about. Whereas the others always have a worry of getting caught out.

If you have time to waste searching for other peoples UBB's then you seriously need to get a life!

A lot of people here saved some money or worked hard in order to have enough money to buy a license !


People who like being in control of what they do and not rely on a third party, also we can do whatever we feel like with the code (appart from giving it away) which is something you'll never be able to do with EZB

You only buy a software if you want it, nobody will force you getting it !!

If they don't want to worry, either they save up money and buy a license, either they use EZB

We don't search for pirated UBB, but if we happen to stumble into one we report it!!

See..Me as a poor intercity kid, I can't afford UBB, there for i use Ikonboard [Which i really like].


There is no need for UBB piracy...use what you can afford, thats all..And if you really like UBB that much, then youll find a way to save up money so u could buy it..Cut grass, Wash Cars, and alot more. And then once you get the money, than you can be like 'the rich kids'.

The only thing is that its per ubb which kind of sucks, they should let you set up 2 per license or something

iknboard is by far not the best option.

considering u are at a UBB CODE HACKING site, i suggest u get a ubb. it is a very worthwhile investment.

and our hunt for pirated ubb is over, now that ubb6 calls infopop, there is no need for hunting.

There is no call home in UBB6 AFAIK..

according too some posts i read before cyphonic went nuts they found one. i didn't know whether too belive it or not thou, just passing on what i read.

if there isn't one, ip better get too work.

hi trying to help out, i would like to let everyone not willing to pay for ubb to get "My mom's" boards, exactly the same as ubb, but better and easier to hack!!!!!
