i seen on a some other peoples main pages of there site where it has the latest threads of there board; how do i do that? also how do i put a log/register box on the front page? thanks

ubbnews or latest threads by djcasual would work for you, check the mod forum for your version  Login box, I haven't been able to get it to work automatically, tho you can hard-code a login box.

Yeah, I didn't think the login box could be done outside of UBB. It would be extremely nice of someone to post that up as a mod!!!
Of course, you could just put a note that says "You must be registered to use this feature" and then put in a link to the register screen. If the user is cookied, then they won't need the login box.
