Running UBB 6.2.0 with the Avatar hack + External URL and SWF enabled as well as the Stats hack and the Sticky hack... Any user that tries to modify their profile gets a Hack detected message... I tried editing ubb_lib_files.cgi and modifying the $maxmemfields to 55 and then to 999, both of these dont work. Does this need to be a more specific number ? If so how do I go about locating the # thats right for my board ? Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Board is located at http://teamevolution.netfirms.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

I don't think any of those hacks increase the maxmemfields number, do they? o_O

Error Message: FYI Hack attempt detected and logged.
ยป Please use your browser's back button to return.
As fot the $maxmemfields thing, I was searching through the posts and that was brought up with a similar error and was fixed by increasing this value, but that was made almost a year ago so I dunno if it had any relevance to my problem
Interestingly enough I can edit the profiles through the control panel. Only field I cant edit is the Display name, dont know why that is though since I set it up so the user can edit theirs.

That's weird, I can't find "Hack attempt detected and logged" anywhere... It's not the error affected by maxmemfields, because the other one is "Hack attempt or corrupted member file logged", or something like that.
Did you change this Wordlet? Or maybe you should just upgrade to 6.3.1.1.

Well in the past couple of days I've been playing around with 6.3.1.1. The reason I downgraded to 6.2.0 was that I couldn't change member permissions in 6.3.1.1. Wierd... I would see the top half of the profile with no editable fields except the admin checkbox and where I expected to see the permission checkboxes I saw none. So yeah thats why Im using 6.2.0 instead of the latest version. I went through and checked the wordlets and couldnt find it either, so I dont know where the error is being generated from, would just like this to work, dont feel like re-applying the hacks for 6.3.1.1 just to fix this problem, if theirs a simpiler solution out there

Uhh, you can edit everything you could in 6.2 in 6.3, and more.

I assumed that, but I wasnt able to in 6.3.1.1 because of an error on my part I assume. Spent hours trying to figure it out. Like literal hours just sitting there looking at the thing until I gave up and just downgraded. Its been working nicely except for this tiny bug

you can upgrade to 6.3.1.1 and then ask at new members forum about your new problem with more details

Yeah I can do that, but its a big hassle to go through knowing that I'll probaly run into that problem. Not having permissions is a bigger problem that this error message. Just would like it fixed. Any more ideas besides upgrade ? Files I should try deleting or something ? I'll probaly just download the whole forum thing onto my HD to back it up and to search through everyone of those files for that error messaging. Might as well since I'm backing things up Any insight on this "new" problem ? Just trying to get a head start

I got that exact same error when upgrading from ubb5.10 to ubb5.47.
I think the 5.10 board was hacked before I inherited it to give custom ranks, which ubb5.47 decided to randomly interpret as an error :oS
I had to just live with ignoring the error - even after removing everyones custom ranks in ubb5.10 before upgrading, it still spat the error out about certain members :oS

Finally narrowed down that error to the avatar hack. Now I have a question...I installed the avatar hack 1.2 in conjuction with the external avatar and SWF hacks. Was I supposed to do this ? Or are the external avatar and SWF hacks. supposed to be used seperate from the avatar 1.2 hack ?

I guess you're right and avatar hack generated this error, again, you should upgrade to 6.3.1.1 which already has avatars in it and ask about your other problem in another thread
