Within UBB 6.1, in the control panel, you can set a forum to be private, and choose who get's access. When a post is made, on the main forum page, within the Private Forum section created, it will show the date of the latest post, along with the time, but not the subject, nor user. My question is, can this be modified, where the date, time, user, and subject show up on the main forum page, like with any other forum created? Note: Just so I'm clear on my question/help, the main forum page, being the main page that list's all the forums you have. I set two of them to be private, and the way a post is shown on this page, is what I wish to modify... Thank you to anyone that can help.....

All that info is located in the public_forum_summary.pl file which is located in your Templates directory. You can easily remove the date and time for example but adding the subject line and last poster name is more difficult.

Looking at the file, I have no clue where to start. Could you give me a pointer on what to look for? Thank you again.

I looked for what you wrote, but found more then one entry, and don't know what to modify. I see a part where it shows, last_author, date/time, and stuff, but how would I know what line to modify for the two forums that don't show anything but the date and time of a post? I've included the file code, so that it could be seen, as to what I'm looking at...

Please don't post large blocks of code like that, its a violation of the license agreement. Back to the problem. You'll want the section with $last_author thats further down the page and has the date and time right below it. What else you'll need to do to it, I'm not exactly sure. Hopefully someone else will chime in with, whats required.

I hope someone here knows, so that I can get this fixed. Thanks...

Hmm...I'm not using 6.1 but the closest thing I can think of is the codes you're looking for should be located in the ubb_forum_summary.cgi file (cgi-bin). For example, in UBB version 6.2.1 the code will look similar to:
In UBB version 6.4 the code will look similar to this:
In UBB version 6.1 it may be different. Now while I'm not sure if you can just delete this code bit and your subject info will appear...That you will have to experiment with.

Thank you for your help, I found how to do it. In that cgi file, if you delete the bottom code ONLY, clear your cache, it will show up as I had wanted, and yet, the forum is still restricted to only those that have been given access. I don't know if only deleting this code would work on other copies of UBB, but it does work on 6.1.1
Again thanks to everyone for the help on this..
