Yes, you can upgrade within 6.x without any real problems. You need to be sure however that you didn't modify your BBS' profile fields.
If you did modify your boards profile fields to be longer (such as quick reply, etc) your BBS will in essance cry wolf, however it'll do this in any version upgrade due to their "security".

Ok... that is what mine is doing. Have the sticky installed. Even though I have removed it, the profile fields are still there. How do I get around this so the board will still upgrade with the members intact??? Thanks in advance!!!

I don't have the link handy but I believe you can use the Members Strip file to reset the Members' Profile Fields. I think you can find it here: Click Here

PT is right, the profile stripper can be found at http://www.ubbcentral.com/cgi-bin/download/dllite.cgi?id=03 - However, you could just readd the hacks to the version of UBB you're upgrading to before uploading them to your live board to save you a lot of time in the long run. That's what I do and it always saves me hours of work.

Hey CTM. I do that too. In fact whenever I upgrade I upload all of the modified files + untouched upgrade files at the same time. One time, no hassle. If you do that then no need for the Members Profile Strip. Actually I never use FTP. I do all of the coding live when the board is on...And many times the users are on too. Unorthordox yes, but modifying a board in realtime is the only way to go. Ok...Off tangent here I am...

Actually, the 'sticky' mod is already in the base code for 6.5, so you can strip your old version out, since it is most likely a completely different profile field.
