CP cookies are set on sessions, meaning that they expire when you close your browser. This is the desired behavior. But if you want to do it longer, try this.
in cp.cgi
find:
-path => '/',
add below:
-expires => '+1h',
That will set the cookie to expire in 1 hour, even if you close your browsers or not.
