I tried running the newstrip file on my 6.3.1.1 boards and when I would type in the username and password it would say no such user etc. I was using my admin account and used other accounts too (that worked on the cp) but kept getting the same problem.

Did you grab the latest newstrip from ubbcentral.com?

Anyone know? Do I have to take out some lines to work with my older boards?

Well, if you're upgrading to 6.6 from any 6.x (i believe) you should just have to upload the noncgi directory and the cgi directory, prettymuch everything excluding the variables.

There are a few variables that are included in the upgrade zip. You may need to open ubb_lib_files.cgi and set maxfields (twice) to an appropriate number if your member files have been modified by previous hacks.

Thank you guys for responding. I changed the ubb_lib_files like suggested to put it well over the number the forums currently has. However with the upload (all the cgi, variable and pl files were uploaded in ACSII) I am getting an error. Message Board Error Control Pannel Error

Also to note, the modules files were uploaded in ACSII and gave a lot of code errors, now I have since uploaded them in FTP's auto recognize and the links above is what it reads (looks better at least).

you shouldn't have had to chmod the pl files ... give us the steps you took to upgrade, possibly something was skipped?

Wow, that's weird.
Delete your entire Modules directory and upload a clean copy from the UBB distribution zip... that should fix that problem.

Everything worked out great, thanks. The boards are now working. I deleted the Modules folder and uploaded a clean copy and that is what fixed it.
A quick question though, since my boards were heavily modified and a lot of features were lost in the upgrade, do older versions (like 6.5) mods work with 6.6 or will I have to wait for 6.6 mods?
