Does anyone know of an auction script that can make use of the UBB user database?
Thanks!

I looked through a lotta files this afternoon seeing if I had the files on my harddrive, but apparently they may be on my old pc - we used to have an auction script integrated with the ubb, everyauction www.everysoft.com/auction I started on a newer version here: https://www.ubbdev.com/auction/auction.pl last year, but we've moved servers since and I'm not sure why I'm getting a 500 ISE there. Do a search in the v5 mods forum and you'll find the old work we did

http://209.15.166.219/cgi-bin/forum.pl/9059015.html#9059679 aahhh... good times.. not. My current files are there, but my days of work went no-where. They're much better than the base code in regards to output html, but the ubb member integration isn't there yet.

I find that Everyauction is really limited in terms of usability. There are virtually no built in features, everything you want has to be installed manually.
Any plans to update your implementation of it?

My implementation was of their latest version 1.7 which is 20 months old already. Probably a better idea would be to look into what's being done actively now and work towards a ubb-integration of it. What have you seen out there?

Well, what I'd really like to do is find a way to integrate this system: http://www.ultimateauction.net with the UBB account database. I'm not sure how involved it work be, but Ultimate Auction looks fairly full featured, especially the admin capabilities. It isn't based on Everyauction however.

hmmm... possibly. It seems to be run by kids over there, for it to be a business site selling a perl script for $300-$400 their front page text could really use some work Anyways, that's besides the point. It's probably a good script and possible that it could be integrated. It uses a mysql backend, so this wouldn't be just a matter of exchanging sub routines and would involve a good bit of custom programming.

Basically I am looking for the following:
Photo hosting Buy-it-now ability Charges for listings to cost $1/listing payable by Paypal, with accounting, so a user buys a pack of $10 and gets ten listings. Customizable styles
Maybe a few other things, nothing major.
EveryAuction has all of these items as packages, just seems like a lot of work to get them all in there and functioning.
What are your thoughts?

Allen,
One more thing.
I have found a couple of auctions that appear very nice and are actually flat file based.
How difficult would it be to put together a script that dumps the UBB accounts into this system everytime they are created and also keep them synched (passwords, etc)?
I will try and get more info on the script when I narrow it down to a few.

Yeah, bumping an old topic, but I just read something: http://forum.everysoft.com/cgi-bin/forum.pl/EveryAuction+1.5x%3A+General+Discussion/9066727.html Seems that the "developers" of ultimate auction basically took Every Auction, added the mods posted by others and are now offering it as "their" software for $300+ We at ubbdev in no way support any development for ultimate auction :puke: Obviously written by kids out to make money off someone else's hard work.

Ah.....bascially their thefts eh? Sigh, but if you ever get a auction mod like the one he and I requested/would like, let us both know. I'd love to see one of these for IPB, naturally you all know UBB better, but I know a board for IPB requests. lol

GREAT! Hope to see one! As of now, I have a test board of UBB.Threads using their trial, haven't really explored it. But I sort of like it, easy to use like IPB. I hate VB, no matter what anyone says good 'bout it. lol
