I posted this in the wrong forum orignally.
Hi guys, I am fairly new to the UBB scene and have done a lot of reading on this site. My question is, the General Settings tab on the board I have isnt working. when I click on it, it gives me an internal server error saying page not found. is there a way I can restore the General Settings or replace it? any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, not sure if the Show Signature option is in the general settings since I cannot access it, but is there a way in 5.46 to make the Show Signature always on?
Also, where is the perl located, I am trying to do the Poll hack.
sorry I am a newbie at this
Kly

be sure all the files in your CGI bin are chmod'ed 755 (except the vars_ files which should be 777), then retry, should fix it up if the permissions were changed.

:slaps head: If you have a linux based server, your board's cgi/variable files have to be chmoded (permissions based on who's allowd to access them and at what levels). They need SPECIFIC permissions or it'll give you a internal server error. Was just wanting to be sure everything was chmodded correctly if you're on a unix/linux machine.

According to the UBB install documentation on infopop's webpage, the cgi files must be chmoded 755 and the variable files 777.

the vars_ files shoudl be 777. Chmod your variables 777 and see if the problem clears up.
