A really simple question: in the "6.4-6.7 Mods" Forum, when a thread has "[beta]" next to it, does that mean that the mod was developed for the beta release of whichever version of UBB, or does it mean that the mod itself is a beta release, not yet fully tested?

The [beta] means that the mod itself is in beta.
In general, it's not a wise idea to hack a beta release.
