Just to give you a little info behind this. I just found out that if your boards are moderated you can be held responsible for the posts on your board. If the board is not moderated then the person that posted is responsible for there own posts.
So I am trying to find a way to have moderators but make it look like the board is not moderated

I'm not sure which version you are running, but you can turn off displaying the moderators on the forum summary in recent versions and it'd be relatively simple to remove the moderator from the public_forum_page.pl: find: <font size="$vars_style{FDTextSize}" color="$vars_style{VisitedLinkColor}"> $modby
</font> and remove that. Then just give your moderators custom titles to replace the one that says "Moderator" in their profiles.

I am running 6.3.1.1 I have got them hidden from the forum summery page and I have given them custom titles. The only place left is on the top of each Forum where it says "Moderated by XXXXX" I can not find where that code is.
By the way thank you very much for all the help.

Your first duty should be to upgrade, you're missing out on a lotta features, performance improvements and most of all security enhancements since your version was released years ago. For an idea of what you're missing, check out this page: https://www.ubbdev.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/10/2234.html As for your last place, I'm not sure what to remove, it's been years since I've seen 6.3 code. I'd search for something with 'mod' in it

We have no Mods right now. We have removed them. We can hide them on the forum summery page but when you go into each forum it shows them on the top of the page when they are active. That is what I am trying to remove.
Thank you for looking.

i am not sure what file structure for UBB.classic 6.3.1.1 looks like
do you have a ubb/templates with .pl files in it these will be the ones to edit maybe public_forum_page.pl public_common.pl you will just hack out the code that displays the html.
