um... again. please.

in short, its a code to alter the CP in such away so that you have the option of entering SWF (flash files) in place of jpg/gif files for certain items (header graphic, new image icon, etc).

I think this is a great idea, as I have suggested something like this in the past. I really hope this mod gets made.

If you want UBB in flash why not just get a flashbb from http://www.x-pressive.com ?

thats a ubb ENTIRELY in flash, which, in my opinion, makes it slow to load, unnecessarily graphic, and unaccessible to users with older computers.

i was looking more for just a way to replace some of the existing, smaller graphics in infopop's ubb with flash graphics. (like, instead of an "add reply" button, or the "ubb develppers network" banner graphic, you could have flash movies)

Well, its easy enough to add a flash header, all you need to do is put it in the header field in the CP. Personally, i think flash is a little sloppy unless you REALLY know what ur doing.

no, to add the flash movie as the header, you have to go in and do a whole seperate set of coding, as flash files require a lot more coding than regular image files.

for example, you need to set a size and width, need to tell the browser (both ie and ns) that you're using flash, you can set the quality of the movie, have it act as a button or stand alone graphic, etc, etc...

all of this would be a lovely addition modification to the CP (something another member here was working on... once....).

Not only that, but the fool made it so that you could have mouse-overs too

eh, i wouldnt. i think a lot more people will use the hypercells option than the flash option.

personally, i think you should keep'em as 3 seperate hacks.

1) flash
2) mouse/rollovers
3) hypercells

it'd be easier on you and on those who use'em (as you can collect and trade'em all!)

well, I'll keep out the Hypercells but the Rollovers/Flash hack will still be bundled to reduce confusion. They share a lot of the same fields and are set between old school ubb (linked image), mouseovers and flash with a toggle switch
