Hi guys I have a good suggestion which seems to be a common problem for people with ubb security.

In ubb you have the option of leaving your board to the public or making registration approvals. But there is a problem with that. And here it is:

You have this so called "Approval" But when A person registers they automatically get the E-mail with thier pass and username. So in my opinion it defeats the purpose of having Approval.
Yes i know what everyone will say: "That they arn't able to post right?" True but that makes it hard to run a pay site with ubb. So here is my suggestion:

Make the Approval Hack

Can someone please change these few lines of code.(Please don't make me learn perl smile )

1. When someone registers please remove the code that sends them a E-mail after registration. Instead put them directly to cue, and E-mail them saying You are waiting on your approval by our administrators or something to that extent.

2. After you approve their membership, Then they recive their username and pass by E-mail.

3. If u decline a person Get UBB to E-mail the user and say: You were declined at whatever board. If you have any concerns issues or you feel you have been wrongfully declined please contact us here: E-mail

(Optional but great idea)4. A 4th option on registration to delete they're account in total. I hate declining people And they still have a username and password they may be able to crack. I feel you should be able to delete the account in total, so there is no room 4 mishaps. For example:

When viewing your registration queue You can:
a) Approve
b) Decline
C) Decline and delete account
d) Keep in queue

And of course there are many other possiblities with this future hack.... I won't go into detial of thoughts but I'm sure u can think of other Ideas too make this hack a great feature to have on your board.

Thanks 4 listening wink

Part of this is in V6.1

Moderate Registration Requests?:
The default setting allows any user to register without approval. If you require registration approval, the user may register but will not have posting privileges until you grant them though the control panel section USER INFO & PERMISSIONS.

Well partially, But the man idea is that u are able to control who gets into your pay site. Imagine u had a pay site for dating and all people had to do is register and they get a sneak peak.....Wouldn't be very good money wise now would it?
