I've looked around for this...but seemed to have missed it (if there is something).
Is there a hack to allow a search of an ENTIRE forum? I know that the program is only written to search each forum category... perhaps someone has better skills than I to readjust this?

you can, but its heavy on the server. check the cp's search settings.
