I just saw ubbdesign.com .If I get it right , they have implement postnuke with ubb classic. Is there any tutorial where it says how can we do that ?

If I buy ubbthreads , is there any news system like ubbnews module for the classic version ?

Thanks

PS I can't wait for ubb portal. It will take too long

6.4 will not have a portal system.

UBB.classic: Love it or hate it, it was mine.

Excuse my ignorance, but is this something to run on top of UBB.classic? Or just a different app that will do what he wants?

here is example: http://www.ihs-squad.com/html/

PostNuke and UBB.classic run completely separately at UBBDesign.com.
I used the same trick for my forums located at community.iceware.net.

Basically, you copy the header, left/right side panel and footer's HTML from your web site's index (for example), and add it to your UBB.classic's style template.

It's simple, easy and works. smile

But integrating UBB.classic with PostNuke or vice-versa, making them share the same user profiles and such... that's another story, and not so smart if you ask me.

Rather go for UBB.threads in that case, at least it's MySQL database driven and PostNuke can use MySQL databases, too. wink

UBB.Threads comes with various addons scripts that can be used as a "portal". Even better tho, JustDave has built a modification he calls the "Integrated Index Page" ( IIP ) that sets up in 5-10 minutes and is a very nice "portal system". You can see a decent application of it on our homepage at www.ubbdev.com - we don't have all the options turned on. This one is version 4.3, version 4.6 should be out in the next day or so with more options including a "shout box", some content caching, etc. Don't even get me started about version 5.... :slurp:

laugh

ubbportal will be nice, but is something being developed from scratch and will take time to do right. If you are in a huge hurry for something "now", you can't beat ubb.threads/IIP smile

Any hacks that have SSI linkage can be used on PostNuke. Just make a new block with "PHP Code" and use a PHP call to call whatever hack you want.

I spend the last days at www.ubbdev.com
AllenAyres is absolutely right . The best combination is threads/IIS.
This person Justdave maybe an alien I don't know, but he created a very beautiful portal and easy to install too
PHP is the future so why bother with cgi

If only Infopop could understand that the next big step for a ubb release its the portal integration.
