to someone as inept as myself! Afraid I'm on dialup in the UK and it's only free between 6pm to 8am and auto cut's off after 2 hrs  so if I set up a cache, I could leave both pc's hard at it all day! all help gratefully accepted.

"Tacks: UD Dialer is great for users who have a dialup internet connection and cannot be online 24/7. Basically the program waits for a work unit to complete, then it initiates a communication session, connects to the UD server, transmits results, receives a new task, then disconnects. I run it at home and it is a big help. UD Monitor does a couple of things. First it "watches" the UD Agent, and lets you know how long it has been since the last save. This is important for some of those complex molecules that take a while to run. Second, it backs up your tasks, making it easier to recover if your pc crashes. My favorite feature however, is caching! UD Monitor will allow you to load up several work units, and then when one is completed, it moves to the next without having to transmit the results first. I'm sure there will be some other clever third party apps developed in the future, and we'll make sure that our team members can benefit from them."

Where do you get the dialup think? I've heard of it at the UD forums, but I never downloaded it, and now I can't seem to find a link..

You can see why the search engine was no good for me now!
I need UD monitor as UD dialer only lets you use one dial up connection, and I have two different numbers, one for peak and one for off peak!
