I joined Team UBBDev and it seems like the program is running fine and has 3% done already, but I don't understand how this whole thing works at all. Could someone explain to me how I got 3% done already, how am I earning this? What is it going twords?

Oh yeah and my Member name I signed up with is, "M_E_W."

You earn %'s by just leaving your comp on to finish the molecule and task. It varys how fast/slow it goes from Work Unit to Work Unit so there isn't much you can do besides leave your comp on to finish the task.

M_E_W it means it is 3% completed with it's first work unit. Once the first work unti is 100% complete it will send the results in and obtain the next work unit. You'll then have your first points and can get the blue Elvis bubble.

Thanks dex & nav, anyways right now it's up to 18% so it seems to be moving along pretty good =D. Anyways how do you know how many points you get for each task? Or is there no way to find out until the task is complete?

I don't know of a way to find out how many points until it is done.

After you're running the program for a bit you can get an idea of what rating your pc gets. If you take a look at your average number of points per cpu hour...you can take that and multiply it by the number of hours spent processing the task.

That should give you an approximation of what you would get for the task.

Granted, the ranking on your machine may vary some, but it's a good point of reference.

Brand new top-of-the-line loaded machines rate close to 30 points. If you have an older machine like I have, it's closer to around 10 points an hour.

You can improve your score by adding memory, allocating more hard drive space or getting a cable modem

Well it's up to 25 hours now and it's only on 75%.......and I thought your first task was going to be easy o.o;;....It's been on 75% for hours upon hours now...I wonder when I'll ever get this first task done.

M_E_W, I've been watching for your first result to be returned... it should be sometime tomorrow. Hopefully you'll get a lot of pts. to help make up for the fact that this first one is so big.

Thanks Deb, and it's still on 75% and about 27 and a half hours now. SO yeah probably tomorrow I'll be finished with the first one and get alot of points .

My first one was big too. Something like 15 hours. Not that big but pretty big.

Grrrrr this pisses me off, i was up to 40 hours and stil 75% now it restarted back to 23 some hours! Damnit now I have to get back up to 40 hours atleast before it will go any further.....gawd this pisses me off!
