I've added something new to the devel site and need to make sure it makes sense. On the main forum listing you will now see the total number of threads along with the total number of posts. The *new* markers is where I need to see if everyone understands how it works. You will now see new flags that have the total number of new threads that have been started since your last visit, along with the total number of new posts since your last visit. Visit the devel site to see what I am talking about. Let me know if this makes sense to you. Also, for those interested you can take a look at the new User List addition. This is available from the upper navigation menu. Edited by Scream on 9/26/00 04:10 PM.

Looks good, but, I noticed that at the board level that the new flags were shown over in the right columns, but the Post icon was yellow as to where it should be orange if it has a new reply. I am using IE 5.0, Windows 98 FE, and viewing in the 'Flat' mode.

I've been trying to fix a few bugs with the new post and icon colors that have dated back quite a while. The way it should actually work is the post icon should only be orange if the post itself is new. If you have already read the post but it has new replies the post icon should still be yellow, but you should see the new marker next to the number of replies. It might not be perfect yet, because I'm still working on this area of it.

This is a little off the topic of the original question, but I hope you're not planning to make the font you are using for those "(new #)" bits the default - they are almost completely unreadable on my browser (Netscape 4.7 on Linux). Switching from 7pt to 8pt makes a huge improvement - Linux doesn't seem to be scaling to 7pt very well. For example, the number 1 looks like an apostrophe. No, what I'm doing now is just trying to make everything different enough so I can tell if the stylesheet is working or not for that particular element.

I tryed to start the edit display function to look what can be changed by the user. but unfortunatley I get an error message: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. Now I have seen the edit display options. I can choose a stylesheet. Can you already say which options will be in the standard. I hope there will be a style sheet like the old 5.09 standard includet, because both of your present examples are a bit over coloured for me. Another problem seems to be that when a lot of style sheets are available, the user cannot decide which one is the best for him. I would like to have a simple prevew-funktion, for example with a simple screenshot. What do you think about it? Tenovis GmbH & Co KG Eddie Kreutz Mail [] [/]

The userlist is a nice feature but in your own database you can't find a special users very easy. How to find in the millions []/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/] of entries the name "eddie"? I suppose to replace the page numbers by letters "a" to "z" Tenovis GmbH & Co KG Eddie Kreutz Mail [] [/]

On a macintosh with a high resolution screen, the minimum readable font size is 10 pt. I can't read the description on the front page right now. It's too bad we can't choose the font type and its size in our profile.

I'm hoping that once 5.1 gets out then people will contribute a few style sheets to the resource center. Basically you could have a few style sheets available to choose from that have the same color scheme but with different font sizes available.

Ok, just for testing. I added a 3rd stylesheet option. If you can go over and edit your display preferences you will see a 3rd stylesheet option (Default style sheet (large fonts). Basically this is the same color scheme with a 2pt font size increase for all fonts.

If you are going to keep the basic dark colors you need to change the color of "Head Honcho" for your ranking. It is not readable with the color combinations.

The result is better. Well, this is not an issue, since there's no problem to duplicate the stylesheets with different size fonts.
