A beta of 5.1 has just been released into the registered users area. Here are some notes concerning this release:
1. All .pm files have been moved into a modules directory. So, after making your changes to the new .pm files, make sure you delete your old ones. Make sure you update the path to these files in the scripts in the cron directory.
2. There is a file called SECURITY that you are urged to read that will explain why this is done and also some info about accepting file attachments.
3. All language files have been split into smaller files. This has made a noticeable performance boost. There is a README file in the language directory that you should take a look at. There is also a WHATSNEW file in the language directory to show you what files have new strings. If you use any of these foregin languages and you update them, please send the updated files to
[email protected] or upload them to the resource center.
4. The altertable script will take quite awhile to run if you have alot of users and posts. MAKE SURE YOU DO A DATABASE DUMP BEFORE UPGRADING.
5. 3 new gifs have been added, so make sure you move them into your images folder. ascend.gif, descend.gif and newpm.gif
