when i try and signup a new user, it says that error, user exists. even when i smack my keyboard and hit random keys, and when i do the same for email.

okey, i don't know but it won't let me do it. could it be something with sessions or maybe there is a cookie still in my computer, and the forums is recognizing it. thank for testing.


i just tried using any name for the login and any name for the pw, and it logged me in as poil, so yah thats the problem. i transfered everything from the old folder to the new folder, and maybe i transfered the sessions folder. thank ya again.

Nothing in the sessions or cookies would cause the problem. The variables in the session/cookie are w3t_myname and w3t_mypass while the adduser works off of a variable called $Username.

The only place the user exists error message is used in adduser is if it gets a match from the SQL server to see if the user is already in there, or if the user is in the badnames file in the filters directory.

well, of course as it usually happens. it has been fixed. it was obviusly just me. i just restared netscape and it worked.
