Ok...I'm using a blank new database, in a totally separate installation on my website. I _still_ am not seeing any orange icons or "new" graphic ever.

What browser are you using? You are the only one I know of that is having this problem and there have been alot of users using the PHP demo. Are you getting your cookies set?

Let me clarify that....I never see any new markings on threads I have read before the new posts are added. I think that after I read a thread ever, I will not get any "new" graphic after new replies are made.

Most recent release of IE5.5. Cookies are working normally otherwise. I just had a friend make a new thread, reply to it, and I get a yellow icon on the thread, and no "new" graphic at all.

Are you seeing the new flags on the main wwwthreads page or in the postlist page?

Basically, anywhere that it's text, I see it. If it's supposed to change the color or show the New graphic, it doesn't. Now this is bugging me. It seems to be working _here_ now, but the only thing I did was log out of my Perl version from _my_ site, and that didn't fix it on _my_ PHP site. Hoo boy.

Well, I have no idea what the deal was, but it seems to work here, now, and I'm assuming the problems on my site are the PHP4 beta I'm running. ah well.

That is very strange. Haven't change anything in this area. Is this new message marker working for the user that posted a message on the php version on your site?
I appreciate your posting the problems you have had so far as it definitely help with anyone else running an older PHP version.

Check the URL of the image trying to be displayed. Let's make sure it's not pointing to /newicons/ and still getting the files from /icons/ in the case of a symbolic link or something. Doug http://www.netherworldrpg.net
