Need a little help on this one. Obviously with the administration upgrade we will need to make it easier to assign a large number of users to a new group at once. So, my question to you is "how do you want this done?"

Do you want it so you can choose a range of usernames, like all users that start with the letter a, and then use a multiple select box to assign them to a group/groups? Or is there a better way?

Scream--

If I had a small number of users, I would like to see a list and then check off the ones to move.

If I had a large number who were already in groups, I would probably like to be able to choose whole groups, and then probably un-check certain ones in that group.

And perhaps if I had a lot of groups, I might want to have check boxes for placing each user in all or just some groups--in other words, a list of all members and to the left of that one column for each group with room to check those.

Is that the kind of feedback you were looking for?

i think a couple of options would be nice.
if your user number is over 30 either siplay like you said, show all the users that start with a.

or maybe direct groups, if you know the names of the users pop them here, followed by a comma.

or search box show all the users that have "an" in there username.

or by how many posts they have, sometimes the users that are upgraded users have way more posts than the normal ones.

or users who have registered between these dates.

i don't really know, i don't use the groups that much. just ideas.

I use groups to assign permissions. Any changes I would need to make would be based on entire groups or user titles. I would not be concerned with individual user names.

I'd like it similar to Asigning a Moderator. Choose the group, then select the "whatevers" to add. I'd like them handled the way the select Users screen is handled - first select the selection criterion then how to list it: a choice of alphabetical blocks or all.

That sounds good but I think with large numbers, maybe check boxes with a 'check all' box would be nice. Like other, I don't do groups much at all so it is hard to think of exactly how it should be done.
