Has it become impossibly hard to remove a moderator and make him an admin on the new version (5.2b)?!?!?!?!
I have two users on my own forum. One of them is my main account and it's just a moderator.. My other is an admin.... So I login as the admin so that I can make my normal account an admin also.... but uhh.....I can't do it.. because I have to remove him as a moderator first?! it took me a little while to figure out how to remove him as a moderator (edit the user, revoke moderator privis..) but guess what?!?! That didn't work!! So I remember that I have to do this in two places.. so I keep looking and I *still* can't find out how to remove him as a moderator and until I do this I can't add him as an admin..... WTF?!?!?!?!
Why did something so simple to do become so complex in the new version?!

Nope, it's not just you. It's an oversight on my part. Not sure what I was thinking, but I understand what you are saying. It definitely was not meant to be that complex and I'll get it fixed for the final release.

Actually, this was a pretty easy fix. You can do this. Edit admin/selectoption.php. Line 126 currently looks like this:
elseif ( ($Status == "User") && ($user[U_Status] == "Administrator") ){
You can change that, to this:
elseif ( ($Status != "Administrator") && ($user[U_Status] == "Administrator") ){

The only time you get the revoke moderator privs is if they are not a moderator of any forums. So there is an extra step involved in this as you need to remove them from all forums and then you will get the revoke moderator privs link. This is something that I'll look at making easier as well when I do some more admin area restructuring.
Of course I may have mis-understood your question, and maybe you are saying this function isn't actually working. Let me know either way so I can check.

Hmm well not sure now.. How do I remove them from each of the forums?
All I know is I removed a moderator who was acting up before the upgrade and now after the upgrade I'm having problems doing it..
I edit the user and click 'remove from moderator list' or whatever and it doesn't do anything. maybe I am just missing a step but I can't find any other way to do it.
Thanks again,

Ok, when you click "Remove from moderator list" it should come up with the list of forums they are currently moderating. Apparently this is not working properly though as I just tried it here and it shows a checkbox but it doesn't show the name of the forums they are moderating. So, there is a bug in this area that I'll need to get fixed up.
