Has anyone developed a plug-in so the user name can be displayed on other pages of a website? it would be nice to be able to display the user name on the home page or other non-w3t pages. Would be great if this could be done using ssi instead of php. I suppose the cookies must be read somehow. ???

I'm not a PHP expert but it's not impossible. The "Who's Online" subroutine is a good example of this. You can create a routine that is similar that exports the data to a text file, and then the web page you want display should be a .php file that includes the exported data. However, how to do this realtime, I'm not sure, but there appears to be a chron subdirectory - so possibly a chron job can be made to do this once every, say, 5 minutes?
