vBulletin 2.0 (total rewrite from 1.x series developers say currently in beta) does seem to have lot of features and they only need to support PHP. There is even newsfeed hack (planned vBulletin v2.1 feature?) to support that with good admin interface integration. Main difference from administration standpoint as i see it is vBulletin features complete template based customization of all html elements. There is also unlimited subcategory support. Whats good about wwwthreads is language translation support (there is no support in vBulletin for multilanguage interface) and also user interface is bit better in wwwthreads for my liking other that they are almost same. vBulletin 2.0 beta 5 does have that notice moderator feature and print this thread that are in wwwthreads 5.4. So it seems next feature after 5.4 would be good template system for wwwthreads
And newsgroup integration would be good.
