Information on how to cache your dynamic php pages. Very Very Very usefull. i just added this feature to alot of my pages. you can set it to cache every 2 minutes or day. depending on the content you can change this setting. on a dynamic page that i have i set it to expire every 3 days, i could probably change it to every week i barely change any of that information.

Worth a healthy read. it is not for anyone, but very usefull for large sites. i have decided to use it in certain parts pf w3t. that don't need to be updated all the time. i was thinking of ways of reducing server load. i am definitelly thinking about adding this to search. and jumper box, but i also think that making jumper box html and not be called dynamically a better solution as i read on vb. reduce mysql calls.

the whos online could be cached also, to refresh every 8 minutes, that will reduce load.....so many ideas..

The only thing to watch out for with W3T is different users get different views depending on their permissions. So if a page is cached with a view by a user with full permission to all boards then another user might get a view they shouldn't get. Definitely sounds pretty cool, but just need to be careful on what is cached as W3T is context sensitive depending on the user and their permissions.

ohhhhhh, right right......i never think that far, i understand. you don't have to cache the whole page, it can only cache certain parts of a query, such as the whos online part, and then the menu will be displayed regurly based on user permissions....thanks for the tip, i would have totally forgoten about that.
