I think you missed an important feature on the PHP version... The spell checker is a feature every user expects on a board...
When do you expect it to be available?

The spellchecker isn't something I can port over from the PERL version as it uses functions that just are not available in PHP. Without these functions I'm not sure how to make one that would work properly under PHP at this point.

You should let people know this important feature is not availabe as many woukld prefer a spell checker than a faster board...
You message at the support page is misleading too
"PHP Version - The PHP version has been recently ported with the same feature set as the PERL version. "
Had I known before buying that there would not be a spell checker my choice would have been different...

On the features list I do have it noted that the spellcheck is only available in the PERL version. If you can let me know where you saw the quote you posted I will get that changed.

The message posted is at http://www.wwwthreads.com/whichone.html
You need to ad a spell checker to the PHP version if you want it to be a success. My members, and I am sure the members of most PHP boards, are missing it dearly... a message board without a speller is like a cookie without milk... Can I get a copy of the Perl Version without buying a new license?

The Perl version is available to anyone that has a license. However, do make sure that you have read the faq from Infopop on the general discussion board that states the PERL version will not be further developed.
A spell checker for the PHP version is something I am going to look at. I do want to add it but it needs to be much better than the one in the PERL version, as the PERL spellchecker isn't all that great.

I think spill chick wood bea nice two!
But, PHP has a lot of power and is certainly worth every bit of what it cost!
I'd buy it again, without spell check.

Just curious, what's wrong with the perl spell checker? Besides the minor bug that highlighted punctuation on flagged words it seems to work pretty well, and with a mod that allows users to submit new words to the dictionary file our implementation gets better daily.
By the way, as one of your orphaned perl users there is some irony in the fact that the only word in this post that spellcheck.net thinks is misspelled is "perl".
