Is it possible to get updates on forum activity more than once a day? For example, we have people who monitor what posts are being made in certain forums. It would make their job easier if they could get notified every hour instead of relying on the nightly subcriptions job or manually checking. If not, is it possible to set the subscriptions to run more than once a day?

Right now you would need to set it so the subscriptions get run more than once per day. You can do that by editing your crontask to run every couple of hours instead of once per day.
