Has anyone else noticed their forums slowing down after upgrading to 5.4.4? I figured it may slow it down a little with extra features and things but I didn't expect this much.

What version did you upgrade from? In the past version or 2 there isn't too much that's been changed that would cause slow downs, except for the introduction of the control_panel (this is a query heavy page that definitely can be slow at times depending on the number of things the user has on it. Actually the past couple of larger updates have concentrated on reducing the load[]/testimages/icons/crazy.gif[/].

I went from 5.4.2 to 5.4.4. The main page, although it has always been a somewhat slow page with all the queries, seems to be affected the most. It could be something with my server, it just seemed to slow down after upgrading.

Definitely didn't change much at all between those 2 versions. Mainly bug fixes with a couple changes to the signatures and stuff, but no new queries .
