I'm currently using w3t 5.4.4 PHP and I have a chat program that also uses MySQL for user auth to log into it, is there some way can get them both to use the same user database, so when someone clicks on the chat room, they don't have to log in again using a differnt DB? what do you use for crypt? when i compare passwords in the database, w3t pass are like "MbR2DdR6.1Qeo" but the chat room uses something else, and are like "1ebfd5913ef450b92b9e65b6de09acad"
so defintly using differnt crypt, but what do i need for the chat to accept a logon using the same db?

We are discussing that in the integration forum, a simple way to authenticate users to most any script using the forum member db. Scream has discussed checking out authenticate () and see how it's called in the different pages and moving from there...

Yes, w3t is crypt. The chatroom password looks like MD5. The auth system used in w3t is realy easy and if you have the knowledge you could modify the chatroom to use the w3t_Users table for auth.
