The only thing that I can think of that I changed was the cookies allowed in zone alarm pro. Prior to that I always got the "invavlid host" error when trying to post here or another UBBThreads site. Even my local boards that I finally managed to get installed somewhat.
Oh well, I'm really just trying to figure out if I can post here now.
after seeing that he can post now..........
*chuckles* Well, cookie control in Zone Alarm Pro was set to medium which states that it blocks 3rd party cookies, disables web bugs, and removes private header information.
Does UBBThreads do any of this, or use any of those. It would make some sense as I was using the free version on Windows 98 and had no troubles posting. After installing Windows 2000 and all the requirments for running my boards at the local level for testing, I could not post anywhere. But at the same time, I also changed for the free version of Zone Alarm to the retail version.
Oh well, I guess now I know to do one thing at a time to see what was causing the problem. I've been blaming myself and that congig.inc.php file for 3 days now and it appears it was just Zone Alarm.
