Should the alt display in the postlist script show how many times the post was rated like when you hover over users ratings?

Related to the star thingie: I think it would be better to have 5 different images for ratings. If you have a thread/user with 5 star you would display <img src="5stars.gif" title="x ratings" alt="*****"> which would cut the overhead of 5 <img src="star.gif' title="x ratings" alt="*"> tags (well that's not much but it could be an improvement anyway).
