as one who enjoys fiddling with UBBT I never thought I would be saying this but I need to. I think I would be willing to pay somebody in the UBBT community to regularly update my UBBT installation with the latest versions and useful add-ons and hacks. you figure out and wrestle with all the glitches, bugs and gotchas. just make sure everything works so I don't have to. the key for me now is v5.5.1, the IIP (Integrated Index Page) and calendar page from JustDave. I've spent 10+ hours wrestling with the upgrade from v5.4.3 to v5.5.1 let alone installing the IIP with many errors. this is ridiculous. I've been running v5.4.3 for some time now so I'm not a total newbie with UBBT. the thing that sells this great program is functionality and I've been needing portal features for over a year now as have many of my colleagues on this board. but there are just too many gotcha's for it to be really userfriendly. I sincerely appreciate Scream's efforst with the install.php and it does make it easier but what do you do when you are following all the instructions and keep getting errors? if somebody's interested this is an easy opportunity for you to make recurring cash on keeping me (and I'm sure others) up to date. fiddling with UBBT is not my main job so the less time I spend on this and the more time I spend on building and advertising our community, the better. I wish I could do it all myself but frankly spending 11 hours on something that should really take 1-2 hours is just not productive in my books. in some ways I miss the days of nice easy-to-manage windows software but alas, there is little on that platform that can touch the power of what I'm working with here with UBBT and a few other of my php script programs. I guess this is the price we all pay for having such powerful server-side software like this. cheers, KurtC

KC, when I get back from my upcoming trip to Germany (yeehaa!! []/forum/images/icons/wink.gif[/]) I'll be looking to get back into small 'contract' stuff like this. I don't have much time anymore to do actual coding, but getting sites up and running and keeping them so is something I enjoy doing. So, if you're still looking for someone (or if anyone else is...) after May 6th, just PM me with details. Thanks!

I would like to see customization services on a per-hour basis, or something... there are some things I would be willing to pay to have done, that might not be very crucial in the public release.

It would be nice if there were a way to know how skilled/reliable a particular coder is... comments/endorsements from past customers, etc.
