Is it possible to adapt UBBThreads in such a way that the first post in threaded view is highlighted (with bold letters for example) to show where the whole thread started ? []/forum/images/icons/confused.gif[/] Thanks for any hint.

Not as far as I know, sorry. Maybe a hack for this, but I dont know if it would be too easy either... Isnt it already easy to see which is the first post? Its the first one! []/forum/images/icons/crazy.gif[/]

Imagine several threads and posts viewed in expanded thread mode. You can hardly tell which post started a thread and which post is a reply to a thread. Maybe a graphic seperator between the expanded threads (incl. posts) would be nice. Thanks for your reply.

I don't see your point. If that was a feature, I would switch it off. Bold and other higlighting might overrule the individual highlightings set by a user for parts of his message. I know that the ADOBE forums use that, and even show the starting message on top of EVERY page. I never liked that. Just my oppinion..

I don't know what setup you're using for your forum. We're using threaded collapsed view, this means that dozens of post headers appear one under the other. Some of our Users already made a complaint about that and I agree. The first post in a thread (or thread title) should always be highlighted. Our Users (and us too) are all new to UBBThreads and I guess we see things through a different perspective. I already got used to the look of UBBThreads but some Users still have difficulties to get used to it. Might be a matter of time but we want our Users to be happy. []/forum/images/icons/wink.gif[/] Thanks for your input.

You mean where each thread and all it's reply's appear on the same page with all the other threads? I don't like that view. Someone changes a subject and you're screwed to figure it all out. Guess I'm just too hooked on Flat view.

Yes, Josh. As many of our Users come from WebBBS, we needed to use the threaded collapsed view. We also have another problem with threaded collapsed view: Users can't see which posts contains a picture file. Some kind of "icon" to show a post containing a picture would be a great feature. The flat view has a big disadvantage for us: Users love to post pictures. Now imagine a thread with 20 replies to it and every reply contains a picture. How long would it take until the whole thread incl. the replies incl. the pictures would load and show up on the screen ? I don't worry too much, I'm have DSL. But what about Users with a simple analog modem ? []/forum/images/icons/frown.gif[/] UBBThreads is fast but the threaded collapsed view has a big advantage in plus when people are posting lots of pictures.
